I dream and I have nightmares. But I defeat my nightmares with my dreams.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Previous Shockwave...
::The cameras open to a fairly well lit hallway backstage at Shockwave. The walls are brick, white with blue. There is technical equipment lining the walls, a few doors leading to perhaps a locker room, or an office, or who knows what kind of wonders really? Random tech guys walk around with random ACW gear on, one even manages to wave to the camera. Even from the camera's position backstage, you can hear the audience. All of them counting "One...Two...Three" then the sound of the ring bell and "All the Small Things" blaring on the PA. The fans, cheering like crazy, but something wasn't right. No, of course, because a few moments before Bane ran through this very same area, Kari in his arms, hand over her face. Within seconds of the bell sounding, Jeff Purse appears from behind a black curtain. He looks left, he looks right, he sees a technical guy and runs up to him.::
Jeff: Hey, hey you. Where did he go? Which way?
::The random man shrugs his shoulders as Jeff shakes his head, pushes the man out of the way, and starts walking down a random hall. He opens every door on his way to where ever it is he is going. He is flustered, with beads of sweat dripping down his forehead and chest. But he has a look of determination, concern, but mostly anger. After every door he throws open, he shouts Bane...Kari...BANE...! Then slams the door and proceeds to the next. A small boy who happens to be backstage, probably because his father owns the arena, or his parents are very wealthy is standing on a wall. As Jeff passes him, the child's face gets bright, he smiles even. He looks up to say something to Jeff, however, Jeff just walks by, determined to find Kari. The child sighs, and the scene fades to black.
Later that night...
"::Bane moved a step closer and was just about to push Kari out the window when suddenly a figure leaped into the frame smashing his elbow into the side of Bane's face and forcing the man to stagger backwards away from Kari! That man turned out to be none other than Jeff Purse who began unloading a flurry of lefts and rights about the man who kidnapped Kari from him earlier in the night.::
MS: "YES! Purse to the rescue again!"
RJ: "And nowhere for Bane to flee this time!"
::Purse had grasped Bane to sending him crashing into the wall of the box before turning to begin checking on Kari, but Bane wasn't so easy to keep down. Even laughing at the pain inflicted upon him he lunged forward to taking Purse and a gasp from the crowd as the two men teetered upon the edge of the top box trading blows. Bane leaned in to biting the ear of Purse and rising with blood trailing from his mouth while Purse cried out in pain. A group of officials made their way into the top box who immediately freed Kari and pulled her from harm's way even as Bane lifted Purse to his feet.::
RJ: "We need more officials or someone in their to stop this!"
MS: "Bane isn't even supposed to be here tonight! Can't Jack Marrow do his job and keep us safe?!?"
::Bane was just about to send Purse out of the top box the hard way when Purse would reverse it to sending Bane crashing out of the Top Box with a 'holy s-bleep-t!' chant going throughout the arena!::"
::Jeff and Kari stand in the box, hugging, he is holding her. After a few short seconds, they run out, Kari in front of Jeff the whole time. They make there way down a flight of stairs, the crowd chanting "Holy s-ACWCENSORED-t" still heard from the walls. They finally reached a double metal door and proceeded through it, on the other side, Kari broke down. Her wails being heard, the camera walks through the door, to see Kari on the ground, crying. Kneeling next to her, holding her close, Jeff Purse. He has an odd look on his face though. He doesn't seem to notice the camera at all. He has his arms wrapped around Kari, but at the same time, seems as though his thoughts are elsewhere. And they are. They are at...revenge. The scene fades to black::
Present day...
::Jeff is sitting on the couch of his house. He is watching, again, for the 15th time, Bane come out from under the ring, and snatch Kari up. He watches how, hopelessly, he struggles to get out of the ropes to save her, and how Bane hobbles away with her, he is staring intensely at it. Suddenly the phone rings, making him jump a bit. His ring tone? Eminem, won't back down. He sighs and answers the phone.::
Jeff:
What Mom?...No she is fine, she is in the room sleeping....yes I just checked on her ten minutes ago...I am watching last weeks show....So I can be ready mom....My ear is fine. I have to go, goodbye, love you.
::He hangs up the phone and turns toward the camera. Finally, Jeff's first statement about what happened at Shockwave. He opens his mouth, then closes it. He looks around, shakes his head, and gets up. We see that he is wearing a blue "The Future" shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers. He paces around a bit, straightening things as he goes. He turns toward the camera, almost frustrated, and opens his mouth.::
Jeff:
Something that bugs me Bane? You bit a piece of my ear off. Alright Tyson listen, I don't know how they do things in your 'dark carnival' but here in society we definitely do not make other human beings UNEVEN! Sure, hit me, smack me, throw me out of a private press box, but don't bite a piece of me off. That's just sick, Bane, that's disgusting.
Listen, I am not going to pretend, for a minute, that what happened last Sunday was...a shock to say the least. I suppose I should thank you, Bane, Nathan would have probably beat me if I didn't see you...do what you did. At that point, nothing else...nothing else mattered. F-ACWCENSORED-k the match at that point Bane. First of all, hiding under a stage? Its been done, plenty of times. Then, to...to take...to abduct another human being is just horrible. This Bane, this is personal. I don't give a F-ACWCENSORED-k about winning or losing this match, buddy. One thing is on my mind Bane, one thing...revenge. And not for my ear...well, a little for my ear. But this revenge, Bane, this all out beating I am going to give you come Hallow-Havok...its not for me at all really.
See, after I got her out of harms way, we made our way down...something happened Bane that I have never seen happen before. Kari, she was scared. I mean she was frightened. She just broke down and cried...for hours. I have never seen her so upset, so scared. Then, Bane, it only got worse. She started having nightmares that you showed up at her house and...well, that's not important, what you did. She couldn't sleep at her place anymore, she has been here every night. She stopped going out, she quit her job, she doesn't talk to anyone...she just is there. She is scared Bane. You did that to her.
That's why at Hallow-Havok, Bane, all bets are off. You did this to her, now its only fair I do that, to you. You sit there and talk all this bullsh-ACWCENSORED-t how you "enjoy" pain and how I can't protect Kari? Are you serious? Bane, you obviously have not felt that much pain, my friend, it sucks. And its going to be so bad for you. You are going to figure four me on the turnbuckle?
Good.
Like my ring tone Bane, like my new entrance music. I won't back down. You do whatever you feel fit to me in that ring, because it will in no way compare to what I am going to do to you. You want to handcuff me to the ring with you...violate Kari. While you "destroy" her. So be it. But you will never make it to her. I will pull that whole F-ACWCENSORED-ing ring down to get to you. You want to knock my lights out, make me bloody, then do the same to Kari...go ahead. Again, though, my friend, you will never reach her. I would fight through the anguish, through the torture, and come at you with a second wind the likes as though you have never even seen, Brian.
I am going to put you in an arm-bar so vicious, Bane, so brutal, that your shoulder, your arm, everything, is going to break, Bane. And then I am going to get up, and even it out. I am going to do the same thing to your other arm. Then, Bane, your ankles. I will lock in the ankle lock so tight, so harsh, well, you can say goodbye to ever walking again. Then, Bane, after both your ankles are done for...I'm going to pick you up, and before your limp, almost lifeless body has the chance to fall back to the ground, I am going to hit you with the Spoke, right in the fu-ACWCENSORED-ing jaw, Bane. You took this too far, you made this personal, I will not, can not let you get away with what you did that girl in there. And Bane, about me not being able to protect her...
::He is cut off by the sounds of screaming. He stops and runs into the bedroom. He flings the door open and turns on the lights. There is Kari, underneath the covers on the bed, squirming uncomfortably. She is still sleeping...::
Kari:
No, don't touch me, get away, LEAVE ME ALONE.
::This awakens her as Jeff runs to the bed and wraps his arms around her. She does the same, panting heavily. She holds on tight, as is apparent when Jeff goes to break the hold and she won't let go. She pulls him closer and, in the mix, a stream of tears are rushing down her cheek. He holds her, grabs her face and wipes the tears.::
Jeff:
Shh...its ok, I am here. He isn't. Shh....
Kari:
Don't leave me, please, I only feel safe with you. Please, don't leave.
Jeff:
I am going to quickly go finish talking to these guys, then I will be right back, ok?
Kari:
Ok, ok. Hurry.
::Jeff hugs her one more time, gets up and walks into the main room, followed by the camera. He stands there, as the camera circles around to the front of him, giving us a close up of Jeff's face. It is solid, it is stone, one look, anger. He looks into the camera, though it is more like he is looking THROUGH the camera, at one person specifically. He opens his mouth again to speak::
Jeff:
I am the only one, Bane, crazy enough to protect her now. Most people, they would be to scared...to scared to face off against a psychopath like you. In the short time you have been back, Brian, you have done very horrible things. The "surprise" for Mitchell and Robert. The "invitation" for Kari and I. By the way, horrible invite. Beating a defenseless man in the middle of the ring...and this.
I don't care about your past here, Bane. I don't care what Kaylyn did to Brian, I don't. All I know is what Bane has done to Kari Kendall, and Jeff Purse. All I care to know, is what Bane did To Kari that night. That's all I need to know going into this match on Sunday. No titles, nothing on the line. I thought, the next time I will be this focused, this determined, was when I once again square off with Laroux.
But the stakes have changed Bane, you have changed them. And I am not going to let that fly. Bane, you say you the Bane of my existence....well buddy, I am your future, and it doesn't look bright. It looks very painful, my friend, and destructive. It looks like you lying in the ring, covered in a pool of your own blood, me standing over you, proud that I was able to make you hurt so much...and Kari...Kari kicking you Bane, while you are down. That is what your future entails.
Congratulations Bane. Since I got here, Laroux for one, have been trying to bring this out of me. A sheer dis-concern for my fellow man, a...a hatred of another human being. Get ready Bane, for the end. Because at Hallow Havok...it will be your end. Brought to you by The One, The Only, The Future, Jeff, Purse.
::The scene stays on Jeff's face for a moment. His eyes burning a hole into the camera, the picture slowly fades...to black.::
