::There was a sound, a snap that echoed, a flicker of shadows on a white screen and the distinctive yet seldom heard in modern times sound of an 8mm projector warming up. There came the fwip fwip fwip sound next, film being run through that projector and while it was film and not digital the sound came through loud and clear.::
RJ: “Is that?!”
MS: “That's Dahlia!”
::The black haired Gothic Hot was standing behind Devon, and her teeth were bared at the scene before her. The World Woman's Championship hanging from her left hand. Dahlia threw her head back and let out a shrill scream which spun Devon around. Dahlia was already moving when he turned, she was in midair and grabbed his head and brought him down with his face on her knees.::
RJ: “Oh god! Dead Aim!”
MS: “Dahlia just attacked Devon Mayhem!”
::Carnage heard the scream and his eyes snapped up in time to see Dahlia coming down with that Dead Aim and his lips curled into a feral smile. Carnage took two steps, then jumped and landed a single foot on the ladder, then jumped again. Devon was coming around from the effect of that Dead Aim and Carnage slammed his knee into his face.
The force of the knee crumbled the Wolf to the concrete. Carnage landed in a crouch, blood running down his face from where the ladder busted him open. Both Dahlia and Carnage were staring at one another, finally Carnage from to his feet and Dahlia ran at him, jumped and wrapped her legs around his waist and the two began to kiss, smearing the blood on his face.::
::A shadow passed over the events on the screen and then standing before it was Dahlia herself, the images continuing to be played, distorted by her curvy form. She was wearing what could best be described as a mad pirate outfit, outrageously short black shorts over fishnets and boots that came up to her mid-thigh with the fold over top and brass buckles, a red and white striped shirt that tied just below her breasts and barely held them in, a bandanna over her dark locks, huge gold hoop thin earrings and an eyepatch over her right eye.::
“YARRR!”[/b]
::She stood there a moment, hands on her hips and seemed to be looking at someone else for an opinion and apparently not getting the desired response, she exited to the right with a mutter. A few minutes later Dahlia returned, this time wearing a more familiar look for her, though far more Disney and far less Gothic...a green satin top and a skirt that looked to be made of leafs, huge sparkling wings and a blonde wig...Tinkerbell, obviously enough. She barely had time to stop in front of the now empty screen before a laugh was heard off-screen and she scowled, walking again off camera to the right, muttering again. A few more minutes passed, the camera idling and then back came Dahlia dressed in striped stockings, a raggedy patched-sewn dress in grays, her hair brushed down and parted in the middle, and face painted with thin lines that looked like stitches. In her arms was a familiar looking stuffed white ghost dog toy, Zero. She made a great Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas, but again apparently the answer was negative and she glared a little before again walking away.
This time took much longer but when Gothic Hot came back she wasn't dressed up like a fantastic creature. She had brushed her hair up and parted it into the more familiar pigtails she liked to wear, each held with a barrette that had a tiny black sparkling spiderweb decorating them. She had scrubbed her face completely free of makeup, there wasn't a drop of eyeliner, mascara or lipstick to be seen. Without her usual Gothic style she looked younger, more vulnerable, except not because there was a confidence in how she moved and even without artifice those green eyes were haunting if not electric. She had on a pull-over hoodie with angel wings on the back, it was soft black and the wings were violet, and a pair of yoga pants that clung to her shape, while simple they were alluring just because she wore them. Her feet were bare, showing toenails painted black, and she moved to drag a stool over in front of the white empty screen.
She paused in front of the camera and then held up a finger, nails painted to match her toenails also black but there was a dusting of silver on each fingernail. Trotting off-screen she soon came back carrying a beat up but well loved giant stuffed tiger and she sat it across her lap after she climbed up onto the stool. She took a deep breath, and then let her fingers toy with the orange and black fur of her companion before she spoke in that soft well-known sing-songy voice.::
“Thought that Dahlia would have easy time picking Halloween outfit, but no. Not like any on the list from Front Office so tried to find better and still, no luck. Just not found it yet, that all. Some things, they take time. They take patience. Not everyone understand that, but Dollie does. Dahlia knew if she just had faith that the time would come and Carnage would be back for her. It not easy to wait, not easy to pretend everything is 'okay' when not. But that what Dahlia did, to make it easy on those around her. But for all that is said, still only the AmyZing was patient with Dollie entire time. No expectations, but just be real friend.
Others want Dahlia to behave like she a dog. Go sit there, Dahlia. Here, that's safe. Don't be in way, Dahlia. Careful, Dahlia.
Now, Dollie can be fair. She know they not mean it like that. That Dahlia was something to watch over, not someone to be a real friend to. Caretaker for, not companion to. Dahlia know that it is true, sometimes Dahlia can get into trouble if not careful. But Dahlia is not a pet, or a child. Try to explain that and get a pat on the head? Not so nice.
Had some fun times, dance with 'Lexa Cole on the pool table when Sin Man was gone. But had other times where Dahlia was painfully aware she was just...extra. Think, that they had heart in right place, but still.
And Dahlia told them all, sometimes unpredictable and that just that. But really thought it made sense if one think about it, that when Dahlia could have back what she wanted most, missed most...that she would do it. That she would be the one to step forward and be on Angel's side when no one else wanted to take chance. Everyone else be on Wolfie's side, no one else on Angel's. So, Dahlia do right thing...even if 'Lexa Cole be mad about it now.
Dahlia would probably be mad, if 'Lexa did that to Carnage, suppose. But just how it is.”[/b]
::Dahlia sighed, shaking her head a little and her paint-free lips pulled back from her white teeth, too far to be a smile, more like a grimace of distaste. Her fingers lifted though, to find the leather collar around her neck and then she calmed, stilled.::
“Finally things are right. Finally things back the way they should be. Dollie happy, Dollie whole. Not really care that some do not understand why it is that way, even though Dahlia explained it pretty good, before, she thought. NEVER AGAIN. That just two words, but make all the difference in the world. Got the World Women's Championship back, and proved on Angel's side all in one night. Would have been better, if he had won...but Dahlia still know how to be patient. Wonder if 'Lexa Cole remembers how to be patient, or if she is just going to run over all comers in chance to take away what is Dahlia's. What she thinks Dahlia is just keeping warm for her. That is funny, Dahlia says.
But, suppose that confidence never hurt, right?
Thing is, Dahlia not care, 'Lexa. Not care if wrestle like now, or like did before. Not care if bring in more 'hardcore' moves and fight. Do Dahlia look like a little blood worries her? If so, then 'Lexa really not been paying attention. Yes, Amazon Warrior strong. Remember? Dahlia been watching 'Lexa work out for almost a year now. Know, this is so. Probably? 'Lexa is stronger than some of the men, and that fine. Amazon Warrior strong, but Dahlia is fast...faster than her. So. And boom, Dead Spin out of nowhere.
Dahlia does not expect match to be easy. If it were easy, then Dahlia would not bother to show up, because easy is boring. Make Dahlia work for it, 'Lexa. Get in there, give me the fight. That? All Dahlia ask for. Not fooling, but then...Dahlia think 'Lexa know that, deep down.”[/b]
::Rising up from the stool Dahlia tucked the tiger under her arm, pausing just before she walked out for the final time that afternoon.::
“Sure, this not for title. But know, that Front Office be watching. They see that the Aubrey Parker, 'Lexa Cole, Lo-la, even the AmyZing, all want shot at Dahlia's World Women's Title. That is fine with Dahlia. Say, bring it. All. All same time, all separate, Dahlia not care. Just make sure, that when come for that title be ready for anything.”[/b]
::A laugh and then she trotted off screen again.::
“Because Dahlia will.”[/b]
::The 8mm camera popped back on, the footage continuing to run as the camera that had been filming Dahlia went on standby, and went dark.::
