I don't know anymore, It seems like I can't do any good no matter how I try. Sometimes I wonder if it is even worth it anymore. Lets face it, I am just not good enough to compete here like I want to do. Even when I think I do pretty good and have a chance to win, I end up losing. Unless it's against the ones who don't even rp for their matches. I need some help and advice on what I should do. I will leave it up to the rest of you. Do you think I should stay and keep trying or should I just give up and call it quits? I just can't seem to get a break no matter how hard I try. I enjoy RPing and am not used to being on the losing end of things like I have been here. I apologize for wasting everyones time and I wish you all the best whether I stay or go. I would like some feedback on this and whether you all think I am good enough to continue or not. Thank you, Bill

Bill,
You're not wasting anyone's time. It takes some guts to step up and ask for help, no one ever really likes admitting they might need it.
I would say, don't give up. You've made progress, compare what you used to do to now and maybe you can see it more clearly. You are getting there, its just a process. For example one of our more dominant female wrestlers Kaylyn Vaude? When she started she was on a two month straight losing streak, wrestling every week.
Then she found the thing that made it click for her, and she never looked back.
If there was anything I would suggest to you for something to consider, if you want the advice I would say these few things.
1) Length/Description/Creativity. Work on your length and not just how long a promo is, but how well you use it. Work up a style that expresses more of how Rider views the world, express that 'on camera' so to speak. Rider has a biker groove, maybe show the inner workings of the people he knows, the trouble they get into, etc. Details are a must, and while no one says you have to go overboard? They are not fluff, they are the icing on the cupcake, you know what I mean?
2) Presentation. Sometimes you use a yellow font that's too bright to be read. That makes me want to skip over the section highlighted in that color and that's not good, you know? You haven't used that in a bit though so maybe someone let you know.
3) Make Notes. The key to great point/counterpoint? Not glossing over what someone said just because it makes your guy/girl look bad. If you have to print up their promo and go over it with a pen. Find the chinks in the argument. Find ways to turn it back on them. Sometimes making those notes before you start your promo can actually help spark ideas for the setting and so forth so it all ties together.
I really hope that helps, Bill. I'd hate to see anyone leave just because they felt they never stood a chance, you know?

On top of what Devon said, also we are here to have fun. Have fun when writing the promo and not look at the side of losing all the time. After all I've been on a rather bad losing streak for uh the past couple months, but I have been having a blast writing my promos and what not.
Fun - That's what we are all here to have and while winning is great, it's not as great if your not having fun. I lost to Andrew twice in a row now, but I had a blast writing my promos against his A.C. Smith and that alone made it worth the loss.
Also if you like to maybe us set something up to spark having fun than just hit me up on AOL (GlorifiedDiscord) or shoot me a PM. I'm on daily and will respond as quickly as I can.
One other thing which I like to do is ask for the judge scoring so I can see what they liked or didn't like. It helps a bit too, you don't get the names of the judges for obvious reasons, but getting to see how you were scored will help you see where you need to focus on working. It has considerably helped my promos improve, just ask anyone who has been around since I returned to this type of play.
Like Devon said, I'd hate to see a person leave just because never stood a chance. The Night Rider character definitely has a lot of great potential, just needs a little extra polish with the suggestions Devon has said.
Hope you stay and keep working with us, Bill. You've improved greatly and it'd be a shame to lose you over this. I know it's disheartening, but trust me sticking around and working through it is a great feeling.
Off subject, like to thank those like Devon who have helped me greatly with my promos along with Dimitri, Andrew, Jake, Mike Voland, Nicole, Michelle, Chris (XL), Chris (Snake) and many more for helping me out in fine tuning or getting my gears rolling on everything.[/Color]

I don't even know what I was thinking posting that in the first place. What, I lose some matches and it's time to pack it in. No, I just can't do that so like it or not the Night Rider is going to be right here like a thorn in your side.
