::It should be no surprise that when the ACW cameras found their current World Women's Champion “Gothic Hot” Dahlia herself that she was at a local Pumpkin Harvest Festival. Even with the chill in the air there were groups of parents herding children hyped up on fried and sugary carnival treats, and groups of those heading toward the exit carrying children exhausted from running around all day. The cameras walked down a row of booths hawking funnel cakes, deep fried candy bars, kettle corn, caramel corn, corndogs and lemon shake-ups, cotton candy...all the things you would expect and that would not disappoint the taste buds. Well, if you had a massive sweet tooth, that is.
The smell of fryer oil almost overwhelmed the smell of sugar. Almost. Down toward the end was a booth that sold pumpkin pies, whole or by the slice and here was where they would catch up with Dahlia. She had a little Solo plastic cup – bright orange of course, filled with hot apple cider and a plate that had a piece of pumpkin pie with whipped cream on top. Perched on the edge of a table she was taking forkfuls of the pie, and thoughtfully examining each one before devouring it and licking the cream from the plastic fork. She was humming with delight as she did so, totally unaware that the camera had arrived.
In the spirit of the holiday coming up she was dressed in all black and orange, a short black dress of satin with an black corset set with orange lace panels, stays, and laces, black and orange striped stockings, black lace up platform boots, and on her pigtails was perched a crown of black and orange glitter-dusted wire with orange and black gems on it, shaped like pumpkins and bats. Fingernails were black with tiny orange stars on them also dusted with shimmery glitter, and her makeup was the usual Gothic-style she was known for – though now she fit in more than she usually did with the crowd. Finishing her pie she stood up and walked to the can to pitch the plate and fork, retrieving her cider as she moved toward her destination, the camera now following her like a faithful puppy.
Music could be heard filtering over the crowd noises as she walked past lines of folks waiting for the Ferris wheel, tea cup rides, and the of course highly anticipated Haunted House. Her destination was none of these, no. Dahlia began skipping as it came into view, the music it played drawing her closer – her target was a large old-fashioned style carousel, the animals of course decorated for Halloween.::
::Dahlia bought her ticket and waited in line, a wide smile on her face that was just a little too wide, showed too many teeth, but no one seemed to notice. She bopped in place to the music playing from the carousel and finally the ride stopped, disgorging the current passengers and the line moved forward as the attendant opened the gate to fill it again. She was about five away from the gate when it closed again, and she pouted, but crossed her arms to wait her turn. Now she would look over her shoulder, right at the camera and finally speak, her fingernails tapping her upper arm where her hand rested.::
“Another match. With the Aubrey J. Parker. But, Dahlia wanted it. Dahlia...expected it. Sooner maybe. But now is fine.”[/b]
::She sighed a little, shaking her head but while her pigtails danced at the motion that crown stayed right where it was.::
“See, that what people not understand. Not afraid of good competition, see? Dahlia want that. Dahlia already done something special here but really? It was sort of overlooked. Well, that is how it is sometimes. Little things lost in the big drama and mess going on around other people, and that happen sometimes. But see, even if Dahlia lose on Sunday to the Aubrey? Still won't take away fact that Dahlia is only the second woman to hold this championship twice. Does that surprise anyone? Only the pretty lady Aurora had done that before. Now Dahlia. If...and Dollie mean if, the Aubrey Parker win it again? Will make her the third person to hold it twice. That is still pretty special! So either way, we have something no one can take away, even if they not realize it at first.”[/b]
::Dahlia nodded, swaying a bit more to the music.::
“Lot of things feel wrong to Dahlia right now. Dollie not like that the used to be nice man Jack Marrow is punishing Dahlia and 'Lexa for what Wolfie and Fallen Angel did. It not right, so say Dahlia. Make Dollie worry about match that not even hers, and Dahlia know better than that, but can't help it, tried. Know that have to have head in own match, know that if focus goes every-which-way that is the bad thing, that is what lose matches. So Dollie try not to think about it, but it makes Dahlia sad. How can fix what wrong, when other people keep making worse? It maddening to Dahlia.
So Dollie do what she can, to take mind off of it. Not right. Not fair. But Dahlia know better than most that life is not fair and that sometimes? Just have to take it as it comes, and do best that you can with what you get.
So. Soooo. Dahlia want to say, sorry to the Aubrey. Sorry that Dahlia may not be at her very best on Sunday, for Hallow-Havok. But Dahlia think, that if the Aubrey Parker go back and look at old tapes of Stairway to Hell matches that she will understand why Dollie so worried. Think that no matter what people say, that inside somewhere that the Aubrey is still a woman, still a human and she has a heart. Lots of times, people hate what she say and not understand what motivate her, but Dahlia? She understand.
The Aubrey Parker? She is no joke. She is for real, she is making herself into something that no one expected she could be. A good wrestler. That, Dahlia say if people not see it that they are blind. She motivated herself, she stuck to it, and look at her now. Still not perfect, Dahlia say, but then who is? Always learn, always move forward, always find new motivation. That? Is a good thing. Dahlia really is looking forward to getting in ring with the Aubrey again. Wish could be more excited but then, still thinking too much about other things.”[/b]
::The carousel behind her came to a stop again, and the riders began getting off as Dahlia continued to speak.::
“No matter what though, Dahlia will bring a fight to that ring. Once the bell rings, all this that is bothering Dahlia will go away until the match is over. Once in the ring, Dahlia will be focused on nothing but the Aubrey Parker, and do her best to deliver the match that she wants. Fight, fight, fight hard, harder, hardest. Dollie though, she has to do more than the Aubrey in this match, more if she wants to keep her title, right?
Thanks to Jack, Aubrey can put Dollie through a table at any time in the match, and lickety-split? The Aubrey Parker is new and once again World Women's Champion. But Dollie?”[/b]
::Dahlia sighed, and licked her black tinted and candy frosted lips before she spoke again, turning to give the attendant her ticket as he removed the barrier and opened the path toward the carousel.::
“Dahlia must pin the Aubrey Parker before she can even try to put her through a table to pin her. Well, Dollie think she can. But Dahlia also know that the Aubrey could put her through a table slam bang and it would be all over but the shouting. Going to have to be smart, wary of the tables! But we shall see what happens, come Hallow-Havok.”[/b]
::She waved at the camera and then skipped up the path to the carousel, finding a horse with an exceptionally fancy carved mane and tail, swinging a long leg over to slide up into the saddle. The music started again as Dahlia waved at the camera and then the shot faded out to a promo-sheet for Hallow-Havok.::
